The filter contains hard large solid particles
When the feed is insufficient or contains unsuitable solid particles, it is easy to damage the filter plate and frame of the filter press. The filter plate and frame are damaged, resulting in uneven force on the filter plate, and the pressure of the filter press itself damages the filter plate.

The filter plate has grooves
After a few years of use of the filter plate, for some reason, some grooves have been washed out at the corners. Once the groove marks appear, they will expand rapidly until the formation of the filter cake is affected. At first the filter cake became soft, then it became semi-slushy, and finally the filter cake could not be formed. Due to the special material of the filter plate, it is difficult to repair and can only be replaced with a new one, resulting in high consumption of spare parts.

OrientFlex recommends refinishing with an oil finish:

(1) Clean up the groove and leak out the fresh surface, which can be cleaned with a small saw blade;

(2) The two kinds of repairing agents, black and white, are prepared in a ratio of 1:1;

(3) Apply the prepared repair agent on the groove, and apply it slightly higher;

(4) Quickly cover the filter cloth, squeeze the filter plates together to make the repair agent and the filter cloth stick together, and squeeze the groove at the same time;

(5) After extruding for a period of time, the viscose will naturally form and will not change, and it can be used normally at this time.

The feeding hole is blocked
If the slurry concentration is too large or the cleaning is not timely, the sludge is too thick or dry lumps are left, which will cause the feeding port to be blocked. At this time, there is no medium between the filter plates, only the pressure of the hydraulic system itself is left, and the plate itself is easily damaged due to long-term pressure.

A nylon cleaning scraper can be used to remove sludge from the feed inlet.

lack of routine maintenance
In the daily maintenance of equipment, we must pay attention to several aspects. First, avoid prolonged exposure of the filter plate to the sun. For polypropylene, prolonged exposure to sunlight can change its material properties. In addition, if the filter plate and filter cloth are deposited, they should be cleaned in time. Especially for the solid deposits on the door of the filter plate, it is not only necessary to clean up in time, but the main reason is that the filter cloth filtration accuracy is not up to standard, so the filter cloth should be replaced. When there is too much deposition, it will affect the efficiency of liquid discharge and cause a bias, resulting in damage to the filter plate.

Irregular operation
(1)The staff did not operate according to the operation process. When the filter press entered the pulp, the valve was suddenly opened, which caused the pressure difference between the front and rear filter plates of the filter press to increase, and the force of the filter plate was uneven.

(2)When replacing the plate and frame filter plate, the filter plate is not aligned with the filter cloth hole, so that the solution cannot pass through the filter chamber of the plate and frame.

(3)The filter plates are not used in the specified number, and the one-way pressure between filtration and non-filtration is not separated by the filter plates of the specified strength, which causes the adjacent filter plates to burst.

(4)When discharging, the feeding hole on the filter frame is not cleaned enough, which will easily cause the feeding hole to be blocked by the filter material, so that the solid material cannot come in, resulting in the loss of pressure or the pressure reduction of the filter plate.
